Random Access Music Fall Benefit Concert

  • Down Town Association 60 Pine Street New York, NY 10005 United States (map)

Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a special evening of extraordinary music performed by the RAM Players at the historic Down Town Association in lower Manhattan, featuring Yolanda in a performance of Florence Price’s Night.

Random Access Music (RAM) is a dynamic, award-winning collective of composers and performers, and an active presenter of contemporary music. Now in its 14th year, RAM continues the tradition of chamber music into the 21st century by delivering exciting performances of works in a wide variety of styles by both emerging and known composers.

RAM’s 2019-2020 season, “…we, the whole people”, honors the centenary of the 19th Amendment, which extended women's suffrage throughout the United States. Inspired by the pioneering women who achieved these freedoms, this concert will feature music by Florence Price, noted as the first African-American woman to be recognized as a symphonic composer and the first to have a composition played by a major orchestra, and RAM composer Frances White, whose music can be heard in this year’s Venice Biennale. The concert also includes the rarely performed “Concerto a Tre” by American composer Ingolf Dahl, and selections from Astor Piazzolla’s masterpiece, “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires."
